What Are The 24 States Jega Wants To Be Scrapped After He And Others Formed A New Political Party?

Nigerians were surprised when the news started circulating that a new political party has been formed by some eminent Nigerians ahead of the 2023 politics.

The party is known as Rescue Nigeria Project (RNP). It was formed by some prominent Nigerians which include: former Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, former Presidential candidate, Prof. Pat Utomi among others. Apart from the fact that they formed the RNP as a third force against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, what Jega said raised eyebrows.

Jega disclosed that 24 out of the existing 36 states in Nigeria need to be scrapped. According to him, 12 states as they were in Nigeria during the 1976/77 era will be better for the country.

 To him, the 12 states arrangement for Nigeria will fast track the development of the country and make administration more convenient while at the same time allow each state to be viable, the big question is, which 24 states in Nigeria should be scrapped?
