Also, some Southern Governors have stated that the next president should be from the south. Recently, Rotimi Akeredolu (Governor Of Ondo State) said that he wants the next president to be from the south. He made this statement during an interview on "Channels Television". Akeredolu further disclosed that Southerners will not support political parties that fail to choose a southerner as their presidential candidate in 2023.

However, some leaders and groups in the South-east region insisted that they must produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023. Recently, Governor Umahi said that it will be unfair if APC and PDP doesn't select their presidential candidates from the Southeast region.

So, I believe that a lot of things may affect the southern part of Nigeria if Northern leaders allow Southerners to produce the next president.
