1 Move Southern Govs May Make If Both APC And PDP Fail To Zone Their Presidential Tickets To The South

The 2023 Nigerian presidential election has been a big subject of debate for many Nigerians, as they look forward to having a new President. Debatably, the biggest topic in regards to the 2023 presidential election, is the demand that all political parties adopt the concept of a rotational presidency, which also insinuates that a politician from any of the 17 Southern states, succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.




 
On the 5th of July, 2021, the Governors of the Southern states in Nigeria under the aegis of the Southern Governors' Forum (SGF) held a meeting in Lagos State and announced their unanimous demand for a Southern Presidency by 2023. The Southern Governors explained that the demand is in the best interest of the country's unity.
